Eye Gel Requirements

Dark circles are a key target of a good eye gel
Dark circles are a key target of a good eye gel

There are far too many creams out there which, to be honest, were primarily invented for one reason… to make the inventor rich.   This unfortunate breed of eye gel doesn’t target anything more than that which a decent $9 moisturizer does.   So what does a TRUE eye gel, worthy of our hard earned dollars do?  Well, let me throw out here a few ideas that mean something to me.   Feel free to add a comment to this post, and put your own “Requirements in an eye gel” up on the site.

Let’s start with the obvious.. Wrinkles.  Of course a good eye gel is going to help rid you of wrinkles.  But wrinkles around the eye area are different than those of the smile, or neck, or face in general.  The wrinkles around the eye area are caused by the repetitive motions of smiling (crows feet) and the skin of the eye area is particularly thin, and easy to crease.  For this reason, “run of the mill” active ingredients won’t do the trick.  You really need to look for wrinkle-curing ingredients like Matrixyl or Sesaflash that are actually capable of curing this kind of “super creased” skin.
Dark Circles Suck -  That’s another idea that a good eye gel has to embrace.  Dark circles are the most common sign of aging exhibited in the eye region, so any cream that claims its for the eye, yet doesn’t address dark circles, is basically just masquerading as an eye gel.   This is very common for standard “wrinkle creams” to try and do.  The fact is that dark circles require a very specific type of active ingredient to be cured.  One such ingredient is called Haloxyl.  This ingredient, and others like it, rid the skin of “loose blood” that basically leaks out of the capillaries and causes that dark discoloration.   Find an eye gel that has both matrixyl and haloxyl, and you’re on a pretty good track toward success.
Baggy, Droopy Eyes - This is pretty much the last of my “Big 3″ symptoms that eye gel must cure, in order to be considered a winner.  Bags under the eyes not only make us look older, but also tired.   This not only makes us appear longer in the tooth than we’d desire, but it gives off the impression that we’re not on the top of our game.. we’re exhausted.. we’re droopy.   This is NOT what I want people to think of me, and so I make sure than any eye gel I use directly combats eye bags.   One ingredient that really helps in this regard is called Eyeliss. It’s made by a company in France called Sederma.  99.9% of so called “eye gels” don’t have an ingredient directly made for baggy eyes. If you find one that does.. PLUS addresses dark circles and wrinkles, you just may be able to say that it is a complete eye gel.
Well that’s my little tirade on eye gel.  I know that since I suffer from wrinkles, dark circles, AND bags, that I’m a little more demanding than others.  But who cares?  I’m saying what a complete eye gel should have, and if you don’t happen to need all these aspects, then more power to you.  But if you’re like me… you need something like what I described.  I have found ONE product out there that fits the bill for eye gel.   But what fun would it be if I just told you what it was… go read my site  :)
