Neck Cream

Have Turkey Neck?
I’ve been noticing lately that quite a few wrinkle cream companies are advertising themselves as creams which are good for the neck area. I started thinking, well I guess that makes sense, since wrinkles on the face must be about the same as wrinkles on the neck area. Then I must have had a momentary lapse of common sense. :) I started thinking, “Hold on.. my neck has an entirely different feel to it than does my face”. I started thinking of all the ways my neck is different than my face which PROBABLY means that a “neck cream” specifically made for treatment of the neck’s wrinkles is the smart choice. I don’t know if a good one exists, but lets just look at all the reasons neck treatments MUST differ from facial ones.
1. The skin of the neck is extremely loose. If I take two fingers and gently pinch the skin on my face, it is relatively taught, and bounces right back. The skin of my face is firm (well pretty firm at least) and It takes a little effort with my fingers to gather up the skin. In comparison, if I take two fingers and pinch my neck skin, the skin easily folds between my fingers. It’s loose. It offers very little resistance to the two fingers pulling it together. I’m no doctor, but the difference in firmness, as well as looseness of the skin MUST support the conclusion that a cream made just for the neck would treat my neck area better than a facial wrinkle cream.
2. I have cared for my face much better than I have cared for my neck. Over the years, I have always put moisturizers and sunscreens and wrinkle removers on my face. I put a night cream for moisture and other various treatments… always on my face. I NEVER paid attention to my neck area, until age started showing it’s signs there. My neck used to just be like no-man’s land down there… left alone in the sun. So, I will draw the conclusion that since my face has always been more cared for, that the NECK area must have suffered more damage. It must be in WORSE shape than the skin of my face. Doesn’t that then, make it plausable that a totally different cream should be used on my neck? Something stronger… something more capable of sucking out all the damage that my neglected neck has endured over the years. Yeah, I think it does, and that gives me reason to think that a neck-specific cream is something I should look for.
Those are the two main differences between facial and neck areas that I can think of for now. However, I’m quite sure that I’m building a solid building block for future posts about this question. I definately believe that the needs of aged neck skin are far different than the needs of facial skin. I’ll be updating this post soon as I have more time to expand on this. If you’re interested, check back again soon and see what I’ve come up with. Also, I have just put up a site that talks about neck cream reviews and which is the best neck cream specifically. Check it out by following that link.
See ya,
