Resurgence Review Score: 75/100
The Murad Resurgence Regimen is made up of three products, The Renewing Cleansing Cream, The Age Diffusing Serum, and the Age Balancing Night Cream. These products are used in combination to achieve a desired result of younger looking skin. This is not a true wrinkle treatment but rather a system of products that are designed to restore luster and stimulate cellular turnover, which leads to a brighter complexion.
Renewing Cleansing Cream (1.5 fl. oz)is designed to protect your skins moisture barrier and of course gently exfoliate. This is a nice moisturizing cleanser and it is actually rather pleasant to use, although we are somewhat skeptical as to what it does for your skin from an anti aging perspective other than deliver moisture. But a genuinely nice cleansing cream. A cleanser, because it is washed off, basically will never provide any real anti-aging effect to the skin, other than not being too harsh and causing damage. This cleanser falls into the “fair” category, comparable with lots of other cleansers on the market.
Age Diffusing Serum (0.33 fl oz.) is designed to focus on the tone and firming of your skin. The active ingredients intend to stop collagen from breaking down and increasing skin elasticity. Again, this treatment was enjoyable, but it is not a true age defying serum in the sense that it treats wrinkles. This is more of a preventative treatment for most, unless affected by hormonal changes. This works well in that regard, and definitely increases skin’s radiance, however it does not deliver any wrinkle reduction worth noting. If you ALREADY have wrinkles, this serum might not pack the punch that you need in order to heal those already existing wrinkles.
Age Balancing Night Cream (0.5 fl oz.) is the only scientifically impressive product in the system. Focusing on cellular turnover and deep hydration to increase the suppleness of your skin, the night cream is a well balanced product that does deliver some results, where the other products in this kit just don’t. It is not enough to make this system worth the monthly membership fee, but individually it was enjoyable.
Free Gifts – honestly these gifts worth supposedly $50 is a bit insulting. 0.125 fl oz of an eye gel is not even enough applications to see any results and the 0.25 fl oz of daytime moisturizer is not much better. Do not purchase this system assuming that the $50 in free gifts is any more of a value than the monthly membership fee of 39.99.
Overall
Overall we felt that the size of the products, the monthly membership fees and the misleading free gifts added up to enough of a risk to pass on this purchase. No one is knocking Murad, they are a great company, and their products are all genuinely enjoyable to wear. But we are looking for an anti aging treatment that is going to remove wrinkles, discoloration and ALL of the signs of aging, not just pore refinement and increased luster. Almost by definition these products are preventative and therefore should not be used as a true anti aging system. Unfortunately, this is not the deal it seems to be.
